St Martial De Vallete is a small village with two bread shops, bar with restaurant, Sports Centre and new this year a swimming pool. The town of Nontron is just 5 kms where there are many shops, bars and cafes. Market on a Saturday morning. Just a short drive from the town centre there are many Supermarkets and stores. From Nontron to the north is the Perigord Vert Limousin where there are many Lakes and forests.
The property is 5 km from the town of Nontron, TGV rail services are available from Angoluême and Limoges to Paris. FlyBe and Ryan Air offer direct flights to the Uk and Ireland from Limoges and Bergerac Airports. Further scheduled services are available from British Airways, Air France, BMI and Easyjet from Bordeaux Airport.
St Martial is on the south side of Nontron and just 15 mins by car takes you to Brantome, which is said to be a ‘little Venice’. Many restaurants and a Friday market which must not be missed.
From Brantome there is Bourdeilles with a beautiful Medieval Chateau and grounds. There is also an open air swimming pool.
From Brantome you can visit Perigueux which is a very old city with cobbled streets and beautiful shops and many restaurants. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday morning but there is an indoor market every day. Golf at Peigut – 9 Hole Golf course and Perigueux – 18 Hole course.
By road Nontron is easily accessible via Limoges to the A20 Autoroute and via Angoluême to the A10 A20 Autoroute both enabling speedy connections with the channel ports.

PIGEONNIER de LAUZANAC
is a cosy three bedroomed cottage.
Le Pigeonnier has an open plan living/dining room with a large French window which takes in views, a sofa bed and satellite TV.
A fully equipped corner kitchen including a fridge/freezer and microwave, a washing machine and dishwasher, and another small dining area.
There is also a bathroom with bath, 2 washbasins and a separate wc.
On
the first floor is a double bedroom with a beautiful country armoire with a
second double bedroom, which is next to a mezzanine with an extra single bed.
There is a bathroom with a shower and wc.
On the top floor in
the oldest part of the dovecot (“pigeonnier”), is a bedroom with 3 single beds.
This bedroom has beams and stone walls, which still has the tiny entrances that
used to be used by the pigeons.
Gas central heating throughout the house plus a wood burning stove in the living room near the television.
Outside is a covered terrace with a table and chairs for outside eating and a private garden overlooking the fields where cows graze between spring and autumn.
The swimming pool (8 x 4 metres) is terraced and enclosed and there is a play area for children including table tennis.
LE GÎTE des CHÊNES is a luxury 3 bedroomed farmhouse cottage.
Le Gîte des Chênes is to one side of our house and completely private and independent. It looks out over the valley and oak woods and has been newly restored with everything in it new.
There
is a large open plan living room/dining room with a big fireplace and a kitchen
area equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, microwave and a
fridge/freezer.
There is also Internet access for free (broadband), a satellite TV and some general information about the area.
The first floor is reached by a wrought iron staircase, made here on the farm.
There
are three double bedrooms with a writing table and an armoire, two with a
bathroom with shower and wc and one with a bathroom with bath and wc. These
bedrooms are separated by a small television room that can be curtained off,
which also has a double sofa bed.
Central heating in the house plus the huge fireplace in the large open plan living/dining room.
Outside are two private gardens on different levels. Opposite the salon kitchen is a covered terrace with a barbecue and garden furniture.
The second garden has an 8 x 4 meter private swimming pool with a shady pool house and shower. This pool is terraced and secured for the children.
Pets would be considered by the owners and children are of course welcome in both properties.

THREE BEAUTIFUL SELF-CATERING GITES SITUATED IN A WORLD HERITAGE SITE IN THE DORDOGNE.
The Dordogne in SW France is steeped in history, stunningly beautiful, essentially rural and lives life at a slower pace than most. Perigord has been a magnet to visitors and invaders alike for centuries.
La Rosiere is situated in the enchanting Vezere Valley, whose caves hold the greatest concentration of prehistoric art on this planet.
The gites are close to Les Eyzies in an UNESCO World Heritage site, located in a tranquil valley called the Combe de la Faye (Valley of the Fairies).
We are at the end of an isolated track (with 16 acres of private land) and no immediate neighbours or passing traffic but are still within close proximity for the many and varied local attractions, shops, restaurants and markets. Stunning historic towns and bastides such as Sarlat, Rocamadour and Monpazier are close by and the chateaux and the smaller towns and villages of this fascinating region will not disappoint you. Not to mention the delights of the highly distinctive cuisine and wine.
As well as the archaeological treasures of the area to marvel at, they is much else to see and do. You can be as energetic or as relaxed as you choose. For the active, you can walk, cycle, ride horses, paddle canoes, play tennis, swim in the pools and rivers, walk in the trees ... the more relaxed can take leisure flights in microlites and hot air balloons, visit gardens, museums, markets, towns and villages. And on and on - there is no shortage of entertainment.
But, if you are coming to unwind and to watch the world go by, to sit by the pool in the sunshine with a good book and a glass of two of chilled white wine, you can do that too. The Dordogne can be all things to all men, women and children - the big problem is to choose. And a word of warning - many people who come here simply to enjoy a holiday, are so impressed with the region and the way of life that they sometimes end up living here. So be warned!
SECHOIR: 4 BEDROOMED (600 – 1450 GBP)
The Sechoir a Tabac is our beautiful stone and wooden tobacco drying barn, covered in ancient vines which has been converted into a stunning four-bedroomed gite.
The Sechoir is ideal for a large family or a group of family and friends.
